For those of you who live in a manufactured home community (mobile home court), how much is your lot rent?
Question by Shaula Brandt: For those of you who live in a manufactured home community (mobile home court), how much is your lot rent?
I live in a small town in Iowa and pay $ 170 a month for lot rent, which includes water and garbage pick up. Other services such as lights, gas, lawn maintenaces (mowing) are the responsibility of the renter. The lots are fairly generous, with most of the houses spaced between by 25 to 30 feet. Friends in the SF bay area pay over $ 600 a month and the houses are virtually right next to each other. What are the lot rents like where you live and what are the lot sizes like?

I live in a newer manufactured home community in Bellevue, Nebraska (suburb of Omaha) and I pay $ 265 a month, which includes water, sewer, and garbage. For this area, that isn’t bad. I’ve seen dumpy trailer parks that have to pay $ 300 a month. We get a privacy fence and a shed. We’re spaced out pretty well.
